The Global Carbon Council (GCC) is the only international voluntary GHG offsetting program located in the global south, that contributes to sustainable development and low carbon growth of the world economy. GHG emission-reduction projects from the entire world are eligible for the GCC Program, although it places special emphasis on low-carbon development in the MENA region, which remains under-represented in carbon markets.

To register projects achieving additional greenhouse gas emission reductions and removals, and to certify their output, thus allowing them for participation in the global carbon market.
Public Consultation
Public consultations support the GCC in making transparent and informed discussions. Various comments and feedback we receive from numerous and committed stakeholders allow us to make evidence-based decisions.
Global Carbon Council (GCC) follows complete transparency and public consultation processes to:
- Develop simplified and user-friendly methodologies with objective, stringent but consistent rules for baseline setting, additionality demonstration, emission reduction calculations and monitoring of projects.
- Follow stringent and robust processes for registration of GCC projects and issuance of Approved Carbon Credits (ACCs).
